Hair that's hot! The classic pompadour

With 2010 Emmys right around the corner, the sky is the limit in the world of hair, fashion and beauty this season.

2009 Emmys gave us a lot of neck and shoulder framing, and little or no volume on top.   Sleek sophisticated looks graced the red carpet but this year, I think we'll see something a little different!   We're already starting to see a lot of off-the-face looks and throw backs to a classic pompadour style.  Careless tresses swept off the face show off summertime skin, a healthy glow, and a modern version of a classic do.

We're already starting to see what trends may be set in motion for back to school, fall and of course holiday season.   And all you need is a few simple styling tools and accessories.  Smaller hair clips help hold hair in place and can easily be concealed simply by dropping other pieces of hair over or around them.  Light teasing in the front and top sections help create height while simple tucks behind the ear with a little shaping cream help hold hair in place on the sides.

  1. Bobby pins
  2. Styling cream or shaping wax
  3. Hair spray (nectar of the gods)
  4. Small clips
  5. A styling comb or brush.
This celebrity beauty tip is quick and easy and requires little effort.   It's a matter of placing hair a little more carelessly and allowing it to fall where it will, rather than perfecting every strand.

NOTE:  I do not endorse or recommend any of the products mentioned in the videos linked herein, but found them to be fun and informational visuals, showing readers how to achieve "the look."  Some are more basic, but you'll get the idea!
