|Billy Lowe cutting hair in-salon.|
That's the one-million-dollar question. Nowadays, people go a lot longer in between appointments. Where people used to go once a month for a cut and style, they are often going every 2-3 months. I recommend having your hair cut every 4-6 weeks especially if you hope to keep your hair looking and feeling its best. Waiting too long between appointments means you're probably not getting the salon results you need, and communication with your stylist doesn't happen as frequently. In these cases - you risk more damage to your hair, split ends, dryness, not using the right products or tools, etc. And self-prescribing can be just as bad as not getting a routine cut or color service.
If you have a shorter hair style and want to keep the look, you'll need to get in on a consistent basis. If you have a longer style that allows more freedom to shape and doesn't have to be perfected every day, then you can allow a little more time between appointments but I don't suggest waiting too long.
So get into the groove, and visit your salon professional on a routine basis and as always, book your next appointment before you leave the salon.
Enjoy the season. Yours in beauty,
