Historic Properties Los Angeles - Greystone Mansion

The grounds of Greystone Mansion - Photo by Billy Lowe
Greystone Mansion is not only as timeless as it sounds, the grounds are beautifully structured with walkways, fountains, and greenery of every kind.  Tall and stately trees overlook one of L.A.'s most sought after areas and every day, countless tourists stroll the grounds for a little history, sunshine and some of the most breathtaking views of Los Angeles. This historic property in Los Angeles is located near Doheny and Sunset strip area of Los Angeles and boasts over 18 glorious acres of grounds and gardens.  Construction began on this historic property in 1927 and by September 1928, it was occupied by Lawrence "Ned" Doheny, Jr, his wife and their 5 children.  Unfortunately, only 5 months after moving in, Ned was shot to death in the home. The city of Beverly Hills purchased the home in 1965 and in 1971 it was formally dedicated as a public park by the city of Beverly Hills, CA.  Each year countless events are held at Greystone including concerts, benefits, and fundraisers.  If you're visiting Los Angeles or Beverly Hills, be sure a walk around this historic property is top of your list.  It is definitely worth it.
